John’s Thoughts
- Ireland were dominant despite Johnny moving on – they certainly have strength in depth and look to be ahead of the rest by a country mile;
- France didn’t click and disappointed their home crowd; I am expecting them to play a lot better at Murrayfield next weekend;
- England introduced new blood at last, although why Borthwick made all those changes while only leading by 10 points baffled me – the Kiwi Roots showed he can step up;
- Italy played with a lot of spirit and I like their centre combination – wouldn’t be suprised if they caused another upset this year;
- Scotland were cruising until Gatland told Wales to stop kicking and run with the ball instead – the penalty count against Scotland in the second half was bewildering;
- Wales surely can’t play as badly as they did in the first half, although I do suspect England will just be too strong for them at Twickenham.
